Field Trip to Grocery Store
Mazie’s 1st grade class had a fun field trip to see the workings of a grocery store last week:
We had a great day for a fun walk to the grocery store! We literally got to see some very cool places behind the scenes and some cool machines. And on the way home we had a special appearance by a hawk that flew right over our heads while we were posing for a picture… It was a great day. — Ms. May
Ladybug
I found this picture on Mazie’s drawing table and thought it was awesome.

Please Don’t Litter
We live right across from Minnehaha Creek and the creek is very low right now. There hasn’t been a good rain for a long time and the creek is just a trickle. We all were walking in the park yesterday and walked out in some dry area of the creek. We picked up four pieces of broken glass, an aluminum can, a foot-long section of car siding (huh?) and a discarded insect repellent bottle.
Mazie and I try to pick up any trash we find when we are by the creek. She made this sign and we are going to see if we can post it by the area we often find garbage.
Twinkle Toes Shoes
Mazie was super excited to get a pair of Skecher Twinkle Toes shoes. They have these incredibly bright LED lights in them and sparkle/flash when you walk. Apparently “everyone” has them. They are very cute!
Cyclone Soccer Team Spring 2011
This is a couple months old now but as the Fall season is on the way, here is the team picture for the Spring 2011 season. We will send game dates to family when we get them.

Gypsie
It has been nearly three weeks since we put Gypsie to sleep. That night, Mazie drew this picture of Gypsie, “for Gypsie”. The flowers, the heart and the big smile are so sweet.
1st Grade Meet the Teacher
Today Burroughs had Meet the Teacher hour when all the kids come in, find their lockers, desk and meet their new teachers. Mazie found her desk where she is sitting in a group with another girl and three boys.
The 1st grade has a pretty thorough schedule.
Mazie also has her own locker for the first time this year.
It’s going to be a fun year in 1st Grade, even though Mazie looks like she’s holding on to Tammy for dear life here!
Mazie is Working
Mazie hung out at my office briefly today while waiting to connect with Grandma Rosalin to go to a Twins game. She had fun with the whiteboard.
“Mazie is working. Please keep out.”
She followed that one up with another.
